Ethics Seminar: The ethics of data analysis

Invited Speaker: Prof. Mark Hansen, Statistics, UCLA
Date: June 1, 2007
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Venue: 4760 Boelter Hall, UCLA

Abstract

Ethical principles guide every phase of research, from prioritizing which questions we investigate, to the treatment of our research subjects, to the assignment of credit for new findings. In data-based or empirical work, however, there are a host of ethical principles that are less commonly talked about. In this seminar, we will consider the ethical challenges facing a data analyst and suggest good practices for both conducting and presenting our work.
